LoveThy (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a faith-forward volunteer coordination platform that connects individuals, churches, and organizations to serve their communities. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the LoveThy mobile app and website.
Information We Collect
- Account information — name, email address, and password when you register.
- Profile information — optional details such as phone number, zip code, profile photo, and church or organization affiliation.
- Location data — approximate location (city-level) to show nearby volunteer opportunities. We do not track your location in the background.
- Volunteer activity — projects you sign up for, hours logged, and commitments you make.
- Device information — device type, operating system, and push notification tokens for in-app notifications.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To match you with relevant volunteer opportunities in your area.
- To connect you with your church or organization community.
- To send you notifications about projects you've joined or messages from coordinators.
- To calculate and display community impact metrics (hours served, dollar value of service).
- To improve the platform and troubleshoot issues.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your name and profile are visible to other members of your church or organization within the app. Your contact information (phone, email) is only shared within your congregation or team directory and is not publicly visible. We use Supabase for database and authentication services and Expo for push notification delivery — both are subject to their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below.
Children's Privacy
LoveThy is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
You may access, update, or delete your personal information at any time through the app's profile settings or by contacting us. If you are located in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (such as California or the EU), you may have additional rights including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.
